An acronym for asynchronous Javascript + XML, it is not a technology of itself, rather refers to a group of technologies that are used together to develop Web applications. AJAX developed applications are most often found in Web 2.0 products. With Ajax, Web applications can retrieve data from the server asynchronously in the background without interfering with the display and behavior of the existing page.
