Server software that provides development, runtime, middleware[2], and integration[1] services for creating and managing a portfolio[3] of thin-client applications.

Defined Terms
1. integration.

A process concerned with joining different subsystems or components as one large system. In HR, integration allows organizations to combine the various applications relating to the management of their workforce and their core business so they work effectively together for the best results. The term that describes what happens when two applications are able to communicate with each other and exchange information.

2. middleware.

Software that acts as a bridge or intermediary between different applications, systems, or components, facilitating communication and data exchange.

3. portfolio.

A collection of projects or programs and other work that are grouped together to facilitate effective management of that work to meet strategic business objectives. The projects or programs of the portfolio may not necessarily be interdependent or directly related. In HRSAID the Branch Chiefs manage portfolios.
