Systems in which control and decision-making authority are concentrated in a central authority or entity.
Glossary: Authentication
The process of identifying an individual usually based on a username and password. Authentication merely ensures that the individual is who he or she claims to be, but says nothing about the access rights of the individual. The process of verifying the identity of an individual or entity to ensure authorized access and secure transactions.

Unique identifiers that are globally unique, persistent, and under the control of the entity or individual to whom they are assigned, enabling self-sovereign identity.
